3/4/2008: OCENS Mail now works in conjunction with SailBlogs, giving you an easy way to maintain an online cruising diary (or "blog") complete with pictures and a cool position-reporting feature.  We've even put together a short video on using OCENS Mail with Sailblogs.  Please click OCENS Mail to learn more.

2/18/2008: Good News!  The US Coast Guard has announced they will continue to provide HF (SSB) weather forecasts including Voice, Radiofax (aka weatherfax) and SITOR (text) broadcasts.  See USCG HF/SSB Weather Broadcasts Get Reprieve for more details.

More good news... Jeppesen Marine will soon release their next-generation navigation software products.  Nobeltec VNS MAX Pro and Nobeltec Admiral MAX Pro promise to deliver the powerful features of Nobeltec navigation software combined with C-Map MAX Pro electronic charts.  We'll keep you posted as the software release date draws nearer.  In the meantime, you can learn more about the upcoming versions of Nobeltec in this Jeppesen Press Release.

2/1/2008:  Looking for Nobeltec training?  We offer personalized, one-on-one instruction on Nobeltec's Visual Navigation Suite (VNS) and Admiral electronic navigation programs.  And, if you'll be in town for the Miami International Boat Show later this month, we still have a limited number of slots for Nobeltec or Marine SSB training available.  Presently, we have openings on Friday, February 15th and Saturday, February 16th.

This is not a seminar!
This is individual instruction (maximum 3 persons per session) conducted at your own pace and tailored to your personal requirements.  The price for a half-day (4 hour) session is $245 -- depending on where you are in the Miami area, there may be a modest travel charge.  Check out our Training page, then call or Email for details and to book your Nobeltec or Marine SSB training session today!

1/31/2008:  Past issues of Plugged In, Tim Hasson's monthly Blue Water Sailing magazine column on the latest in technology for cruisers are now available on the Resources page.

11/5/2007: Well, it's early November and that means we're actively-involved with the Caribbean 1500 fleet sailing from Hampton, VA to Tortola, BVI.  We just spent about six days on the docks in Hampton, helping folks prepare for their upcoming passage.   This year, the C1500 is doing something a little different -- the boats are being tracked via Satellite, and you can monitor their position on the web in almost real-time.  See www.Carib1500.com  and click on the "Position Reports" link for more.

9/16/2007: We're delighted to announce my new monthly column appearing in Blue Water Sailing magazine.  Plugged In: with Tim Hasson starts in the October 2007 issue with an article on skype. Click here to subscribe or learn more about BWS.

2/10/2007: Globalstar's stylish new satellite phone, the GSP-1700, is now here.  We've also added information on Iridium, and the SeaCAS line of AIS receivers.

With this recent cold snap, we're especially looking forward to the
Miami International Boat Show, February 15 - 19 in Miami, FL.  See you there!

1/30/2007: NEW - Pactor Modem Cable Cross Reference, to help you choose the right cables for your modem/transceiver.
